
Yarmouk University President, Professor Dr. Malik Sharairi, received a delegation from the Irbid Chamber of Industry headed by the Chairman of the Board, Hani Abu Hassan, and the accompanying delegation, to discuss ways of cooperation and partnership between the two sides to develop educational outcomes and link them to the labor market, in order to serve the industrial sector and the local community.
Sharairi affirmed the university’s keenness to activate genuine partnerships with various industrial sector institutions in the Kingdom, in line with its vision of bridging the gap between academia and industry, connecting theoretical knowledge with practical application, and thus supporting industrial development and advancing the national economy.
He emphasized the necessity of linking innovation with manufacturing and transforming scientific research into productive projects that contribute to stimulating investment and generating job opportunities.
Sharairi pointed out that the goal of education is not merely to obtain a job, but to prepare students to enter the labor market by refining their learning, communication, and interpersonal skills. He added that the university seeks to update its academic programs to keep pace with the continuous changes in the world of knowledge and science.
For his part, Abu Hassan stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation with Yarmouk University, which is home to many distinguished scientific competencies in various fields, describing it as a national academic institution that produces qualified talents forming a key pillar for the development of national industry.
He noted that the Irbid Chamber of Industry seeks to build strategic partnerships with Jordanian universities to develop training and qualification programs that meet the needs of the industrial sector, enhance competitiveness in local and global markets, and connect educational outcomes with the industrial labor market.
