91 . Article (24): General Provisions a. Notwithstanding Articles (4, 5, and 6), any student who commits an act in violation of laws or regulations not specifically covered therein may be subject to any of the disciplinary penalties provided in Article (3). b. Where mitigating circumstances exist, the Investigation Committee may recommend reducing the imposed disciplinary penalty to the next lower level. c. Where a single violation falls under multiple legal provisions, the more severe penalty shall apply. d. Where a violation causes damage to the University or its property, the Investigation Committee shall document the damage and notify the relevant University authorities to recover compensation. e. Students who commit new violations while serving a previous disciplinary penalty may be investigated directly by the competent Investigation Committee, which shall issue the appropriate decisions. f. The Dean of Student Affairs, the Dean of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies, the Dean of the Faculty, or the Director of the relevant Center may suspend a student referred to the Investigation Committee from participating in any student activities or using the facilities and services in which the violation occurred, until a final decision is issued. g. Violations and disciplinary penalties under these regulations are not subject to any statute of limitations. h. Implications of the Penalty: a. Subject to paragraph (f) of this Article, the effects of the disciplinary penalties set forth in Article (3) of these regulations shall lapse as follows: b. Penalties listed in items (1–8) shall lapse six months from the date of issuance of the penalty. c. The penalty listed in item (9) shall lapse nine months from the completion date of the penalty. d. The summer semester shall be considered an academic semester for the purposes of temporary suspension from the University. e. Courses undertaken by the student at any institute or university during the period of the penalty shall not be counted. f. Temporary suspension from the University shall be enforced in the semester in which the violation occurred, without crediting fees. The Investigation Committee may defer the temporary suspension to the following semester if the recommendation is issued after the start of final examinations. Graduating students are exempt from such deferral.
