65 Requirements for Obtaining a Master's Degree The master's program has two tracks: the thesis track and the comprehensive examination track (without thesis), and the requirements for obtaining the master's degree must be at least (33) credit hours, distributed as follows: A- Master's program, (thesis track): 1. The student should study at least (24) credit hours of the courses at the 600 level and above, in accordance with the department’s approved study plan. and completing it according to the provisions of Article (24), with an accumulative average of not less than (75%), distributed as follows: ● A minimum of fifteen (15) credit hours of compulsory courses. ● A maximum of nine (9) credit hours of elective courses. 2. The student should submit their thesis representing an original contribution to the body of knowledge, assigned (9) credit hours, and successfully complete their defense examination. B- Master’s Program (comprehensive examination track): 1- The student should complete at least (33) credit hours of courses at the 600 level or above, in accordance with the department’s approved study plan, and pass them according to the provisions of Article (24), with a cumulative average of not less than (75%), distributed as follows: ● A minimum of fifteen (24) credit hours of compulsory courses. ● A maximum of nine (9) credit hours of elective courses. 2- Passing a comprehensive examination in accordance with articles (27–30) of these regulations. C- Conditions for applying to transfer from the comprehensive track to the thesis track: 1- A cumulative average of not less than (80%) 2- The availability of a supervisor with a workload permits taking on supervision. 3- The completion of (18) credit hours from the student’s study plan. 4- Any other conditions the department finds suitable.
