Introduction

Green tourism and green investment are two important areas related to sustainable development and environmental conservation, which focus on promoting economic and social development and protecting natural resources and local culture. On the other hand, green investment focuses on supporting projects and activities that achieve environmental and social benefits in addition to financial returns. Recent years have witnessed increasing interest in the environment and its impacts on social and economic conditions, which has led to the encouragement of green investment as a basic requirement for sustainable development and the transition to an economy that considers environmental aspects.

Based on the above, and to examine and discuss these trends that contribute to enhancing awareness of the importance of green tourism and green investment as approaches to achieve sustainable development and preserving resources, the Eighth Jordanian International Conference on Tourism and Hospitality 2024/ Faculty of Tourism and Hotels/Yarmouk University comes to address these topics and to shed light on the challenges and impacts related to them.





Papers Submission

Dear researcher, on behalf of the organizing committee for the Eighth Jordanian Conference on Tourism and Hospitality, under the title adopted by the World Tourism Organization for World Tourism Day 2023 (Green Tourism and Investment), the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Yarmouk University in Jordan/Irbid city invites you to participate in its international conference, which will be held within two days. Wednesday and Thursday, August 7 and 8, 2024, at Yarmouk University, to provide the opportunity to meet and network with international, regional, and local researchers in the field of tourism and hospitality to learn about modern trends in the tourism and hospitality industry according to the following pillars:

  • 1- Green practices in tourism and hotel facilities.
  • 2- Artificial intelligence in tourism and hospitality.
  • 3- Green marketing in tourism and hospitality (green tourism marketing).
  • 4- Sustainable tourism.
  • 5- Human resources and green hospitality.
  • 6- Investing in green tourism.
  • 7- Green tourism product.
  • 8- Slow tourism.
  • 9- International experiences in the field of tourism and green investment.

Participation Guidelines

  • The paper abstract (not more than 250 words ). The abstract should be sent via e-mail before 15/7/2024, including the research title, the name of the author/s, affiliation, and contact details(email, phone number), provided that it does not exceed (250 words). The author/s will be notified – if the paperis initially accepted - within a week of receiving the abstract.

  • An e-copy of the paper in its final form should be sent before 25/7/2024, after which a review will be made by the scientific committee of the conference. The author/s will be informed within a week about the final decision of the committee.

  • Papers are accepted in Arabic, English, and French accompanied by two abstracts in Arabic and English.
    Conference paper style and Guidelines:
    • - Papers should not exceed (20) pages.
    • - It should address one of the conference’s themes.
    • - It must be original and haven’t been published before or considered for publication in any journal or conference proceedings.
    • - Papers should be written in 14-point font (Simplified Arabic) in Arabic, and 12-point font (Times New Roman)in English.

Yarmouk University, (abbreviated as YU) is a public state-supported university located near the city centre of Irbid in northern Jordan.Since it was established by Royal Decree in 1976, Yarmouk University has topped the best university lists in Jordan and the Middle East.YU has around 37,000 students working within a total of 15 faculties offering 52 bachelor's degrees, 64 master's degrees, and 18 PhD programmes in different disciplines. The university also hosts 12 research and career centres, including the Aqaba Marine Science Station at Aqaba,The Refugees, Displaced Persons & Forced Migration Studies Center and the UNESCO Chair for Desert Studies & Combat Desertification.The institution has an FM radio station that broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the frequency of 105.7 FM, airing the news, music, political, social and academic programmes and the weather forecast. It also prints the Sahafat Al-Yarmouk newspaper. Yarmouk University’s Museum of Jordanian Heritage displays cultural artefacts, including centuries-old stone carvings. All university buildings are located near the city centre of Irbid, the second largest city in Jordan.
