Scientific Research Axis Strategic objective Promoting scientific research in the university corresponding to the international standards through the provision of material and technical requirements and linking scientific research outputs with the needs of national development with a focus on the needs of the local community. Sub-objectives: First: Achieving the maximum benefit of scientific research allocations from the university's budget. Actions required to achieve the objective: 1. Restructuring the support of scientific research at the university whereas five research programs will be established, each with its own objectives and terms. These projects include: a. Project of supporting research of new teaching staff. b. Project of supporting the scientific research of interdisciplinary majors, in which two or more faculties collaborate. c. Project of applied research and research that is designed to meet the needs of the community. d. Project of Postgraduate research. e. Project of Joint research with the private sector. 2. Establishing a central research lab unit at the university. 3. Developing an incentives system to encourage scientific publishing in prestigious scientific journals.
