The Faculty of Physical Education was established in 1993. Prior to this it was a department at the Faculty of Arts. The department was incorporated in 1988 with the Faculty of Education and Fine Arts. The Council for Higher Education in 1993 decided that it is to be transferred into a fully-fledged faculty under the name of Faculty of Physical Education.

The Faculty of physical Education includes two departments:

Department of  Sport Science (Sp. Sc.)

Department of  Physical Education (P.E)

The tow departments participated in offering courses leading to a (B.A) degree in physical education. Moreover,  the Department of Sport Science (Sp. Sc.)  awards a  (M.A) degree in sport science, and the Department of Physical Education (P.E) awards a  (M.A) degree in Physical Education.

The Faculty of Physical Education is committed to improving its curricula, employing information technology for this purpose. Also, it offers programs and Courses to train school teachers.

The goal of the Faculty of Physical Education is to prepare future teachers to cover the necessities of schools, clubs, military, and the educational public sector. Also, the Faculty applies emphasis on special education programs.

Our department provides biomechanics lab, physiological lab, physical therapy lab, and peak performance labs. These labs provide assistance to students to experience in dealing with athletes, health, and therapy. These labs main purpose is to provide education and experience to students in Bachelors and Master's degree students and hopefully, in the near future, Ph.D. students. Also, we have an indoor multi purpose gymnasium, football field, Track and Field, tennis courts, Basketball and Team Handball courts.

There are 1200 students (male and female).Sixty three in Master's program. Four students on scholarships studying outside of Jordan.

The staff consists of 40 faculty members. They hold degrees in Physical Education with different emphasis in a wide range of areas.

Our research area is of high importance. Our staff has Publications and articles in International and Nationals Journals.

Faculty participates in conventions world wide. Provide assistance to the Sport Movement in Jordan.

Members volunteer their expertise in Sport Clubs, Federations, Olympic Committees, and The Ministry of Youth.

Our employees, technical and managers, are 26. They provide a wide range of services.

The faculty hosts courses in swimming and physical conditioning for university employees and their families and for the general public.

We make workshops in coordination with sport federations in coaching, refereeing, and management. Such as, swimming, tennis, basketball, team handball, football, volleyball, gymnastics, track and field, taeqando, squash, and badminton.  

Teachers and professors give lectures in schools, clubs, and where ever they are asked and needed.
